Widget Setup for Regular Websites

To more easily add our Promotions Widget to your website we put together a step-by-step tutorial that is easy to follow. You don't need to be a technical genius to follow this tutorial. Anyone with basic computer knowledge can add our Promotions Widget to their website.

IMPORTANT: Widgets are sponsor-specific, i.e. each campaign sponsor in your Wildfire account is tied to a different widget. This means that one widget can display multiple campaigns of the same sponsor. For example, Nike could run on their website a Coupon campaign and a Sweepstakes campaign in the same widget. What's even cooler is that you only need to add the widget once to your website. When there are no campaigns published in your widget the widget will simply disappear from your website and when you launch your next campaign it will automatically reappear on your website.

STEP 1: Login to your Wildfire Account

Login to your Wildfire Promotion Builder account and click on the campaign you want to publish to your widget.

STEP 2: Copy the Widget Code

In the campaign wizard go to the Publish tab and click on the Publish Now link in the Widget channel. Copy the widget code.

STEP 3: Paste the Widget Code into your Website or Content Management System

If you have webmaster that manages your website or content management system send him/her the widget code and tell him/her to add it to the pages on which you want the widget to display.

If you DON'T have a webmaster and manage your own website or content management system paste the widget code into the bottom of your content, immediately before the </body> tag of each page you are planning to display the widget to. If you use a common include or template, you can enter it there. For database driven websites insert the widget code on your index.php page or equivalent (eg. default.php, index.cfm).

Once you've completed this step, the widget will begin to display on your website. Please note, if you don't have any campaigns published the widget will not display. Only once you published a campaign the widget wil be visible on your website.
