Widget Setup for Intuit/Homestead Websites

This tutorial teaches you in 6 easy steps how to add a Promotion widget on your Intuit/Homestead powered website. Before you start, make sure you signed up for a Homestead account. Also make sure you downloaded the SiteBuilder software onto your PC (Note: SiteBuilder only works for Windows not for Mac OS).

IMPORTANT: You don't need to be a technical person to follow this tutorial. Anyone with basic computer knowledge can add the Wildfire Widget to a Homestead website.

STEP 1: Start the SiteBuilder Software

Click on the Windows Start button at the bottom left of your screen and click the SiteBuilder icon to start the SiteBuilder software. Please note that the SiteBuilder software only works for Windows and not Mac OS. In other words, Mac users cannot use the SiteBuilder software.

STEP 2: Login to your SiteBuilder

Once the SiteBuilder software starts up, input your Homestead or Intuit username and password to login.

STEP 3: Click the HTML Feature

Choose one of your existing Homestead websites or create a new one. Once you have a Homestead website in place, click on the HTML feature in the top navigation of the SiteBuilder software. This will create a HTML box on your Homestead website. Before you move to Step 4 of this tutorial make sure you keep your SiteBuilder software open because you'll need it again in Step 5!

IMPORTANT: You can place the created HTML box anywhere on your Homestead website because it will be INVISIBLE to your website visitors. Depending on what widget position you choose in your Wildfire account it will appear on your Homestead website at the top, bottom, left or right side of the browser.

STEP 4: Copy the Widget Code in your Wildfire Account

Login to your Wildfire Promotion Builder account and click on the campaign you want to add to your Homestead website. Click on the Publish tab. Then click on the Publish Now link of the widget. Once the green box opens you can copy the widget code and go back to your SiteBuilder software.

STEP 5: Paste the Widget Code into your SiteBuilder Software

Once you return to your SiteBuilder software click on the grey button called Enter or Paste HTML which is located on the right side. This click should trigger a new window called HTML Snippet. You should paste the Wildfire Widget Code into the HTML Snippet window. Then click OK to save the settings.

STEP 6: Publish Your Edits to Your Live Homestead Website

In your SiteBuilder software click on the Publish icon which is located at the top of the SiteBuilder. Clicking on the Publish icon will automatically update your Intuit/Homestead website. Once your website is update the SiteBuilder software will automatically open your website in a browser window so you can see the changes.

Once you've completed this step, the widget will begin to display on your Intuit/Homestead hosted website. Please note, if you don't have any campaigns published the widget will not display. Only once you published a campaign the widget wil be visible on your website.
