Knowledge Base: Widget Setup for Webs.com powered websites
This tutorial teaches you in 4 easy steps how to seamlessly add the Promotions Widget to your Webs.com powered website. You don't need to be a technical genius to follow this tutorial. Anyone with basic computer knowledge can add our promotions widget to their Webs.com website.
IMPORTANT: Widgets are sponsor-specific, i.e. each campaign sponsor in your Wildfire account is tied to a different widget. This means that one widget can display multiple campaigns of the same sponsor. For example, Nike could run on their website a Coupon campaign and a Sweepstakes campaign in the same widget. What's even cooler is that you only need to add the widget once to your website. When there are no campaigns published in your widget the widget will simply disappear from your website and when you launch your next campaign it will automatically reappear on your website.
STEP 1: Go to the Webs App Store
Login to your Webs account and click on Edit This Site of the site you want to publish your widget to.
On the Site Manager page click on Add an Application to go to the Webs App Store.
STEP 2: Install the Webs Promotions App
In the Webs App Store scroll down and click on Promotions.
On the Promotions app page in the App Details section click on Install App.
STEP 3: Get your Sponsor ID from Wildfire Promotion Builder
Login to your Wildfire Promotion Builder account and click on the campaign you want to publish to your widget. In the campaign wizard go to the Publish tab and click on the Publish Now link in the Widget channel. Copy the Sponsor ID, which is the second number in the widget code.
STEP 4: Set your Sponsor ID in the Webs App Settings
On the Site Manager page click on Promotions to edit the app settings.
On the Promotions app settings page insert your Wildfireapp Sponsor ID.
Once you have submitted your Wildfireapp Sponsor ID all necessary settings are saved and the Promotions widget is successfully installed. With clicking on return to SIte Manager you can easily go back to your Site Manager page.
As soon as you publish campaigns to the Widget channel in your Wildfire Promotion Builder account for the saved Wildfireapp Sponsor ID, the widget will be automatically displayed on your Webs powered website.
